Hannah + Michael’s Whitewood Ranch Wedding | A Coordinated First Dance to Remember

Some wedding moments are beautiful because they happen naturally. Others become unforgettable because of everything that went into creating them.

For Hannah and Michael, their wedding at Whitewood Ranch had plenty of both. Their day was intimate, relaxed and centered around the people closest to them. But one moment deserved its own spotlight: a coordinated first dance they had practiced for weeks.

What their guests saw was a few unforgettable minutes on the dance floor. What they didn’t see were the rehearsals, Michael helping choreograph the dance, the nerves surrounding one particular lift, and one last practice during cocktail hour before it was time to perform it for real.

An Intimate Wedding Day That Felt Like Them

On April 22, 2026, Hannah and Michael celebrated an intimate wedding at Whitewood Ranch in De Leon Springs, Florida. One of the things Hannah remembers most wasn’t a decoration, a song or even a single moment. It was how the entire day felt.

“Looking back on our wedding I think what made it so special was the intimacy of our guest list. Nothing felt chaotic, stressful, or rushed. We felt so loved, cared for, and celebrated!”

That feeling is what made their wedding so personal. There was room to actually experience the day instead of racing from one item on the timeline to another. They could be present with each other, enjoy their guests and take in everything they had spent so much time planning.

The Moments Before “I Do”

For Hannah, one of the most memorable parts of the entire wedding happened before the ceremony had even really begun.

“One of the most memorable moments from the wedding was definitely the few minutes before walking down the aisle. We both felt all the nerves in those moments and it just felt so surreal.”

Those few minutes are hard to fully describe. The planning is finished. The guests have arrived. The music is ready. Everyone you love is waiting. And suddenly, it becomes real: you’re about to get married.

The quiet moments before a ceremony can be some of the most emotional parts of a wedding day. They are also why the flow of the day matters: nobody should feel like they are being pushed through the moment just to stay on a spreadsheet.

At Whitewood Ranch, Hannah and Michael had the space to take it in, then step into the ceremony surrounded by the people they had intentionally chosen to be there.

A Ceremony Full of Anticipation

That buildup made the ceremony feel even more meaningful. The nerves from those final minutes turned into relief, joy and the realization that the day they had planned was finally happening.

The strongest real-wedding stories are usually built from moments like these: anticipation before the aisle, the ceremony itself, the first kiss and the small reactions in between. They are what make a wedding feel specific to one couple instead of interchangeable with every other celebration.

Hannah + Michael’s Coordinated First Dance

Instead of simply choosing a song and swaying together, Hannah and Michael decided to make their first dance something completely their own.

Their song was “Biblical” by Calum Scott, with the coordinated portion planned around 1:29-2:48 of the track. Michael encouraged the idea and choreographed most of the dance himself.

“Michael actually encouraged the first dance and choreographed most of it! We were most nervous for the lift and it took weeks of practice. We were very impressed that it went so well on the day of!” Hannah

The Lift They Practiced for Weeks

They had spent weeks practicing, but we still had one more chance to run through the dance together during cocktail hour. Watching that rehearsal, I was completely blown away – especially seeing Michael pick Hannah up off the floor so smoothly. You could tell how much work they had put into getting that moment right.

“It was amazing to perform our dance for everyone! We were very happy to pull off the lift and afterwards we felt like we were on a cloud lol. We were very happy with the reactions and love that everyone enjoyed it!”

They were also just the absolute sweetest couple to work with. That made seeing everything come together in front of their family and friends even better.

Why the First-Dance Timing Matters

For us as DJs, moments like this are why a first dance can be so much more than simply pressing play on a song.

When a couple has planned something this specific, the music cue and timing have to be right so their moment can happen exactly the way they practiced it. The DJ needs to know where the couple is, whether the photographer and planner are ready, and when the room is actually prepared for the moment to begin.

When a couple has planned something this specific, the music cue and timing have to be right so their moment can happen exactly the way they practiced it.

The DJ needs to know where the couple is, whether the photographer and planner are ready, and when the room is actually prepared for the moment to begin.

The ”we actually did it” feeling is one of our favorite parts of their story. It wasn’t just a performance for their guests. It was something Hannah and Michael worked on together, then pulled off together when it mattered.

From First Dance to a Full Reception

Once the formal moments were over, it was time to celebrate. The first dance was about Hannah and Michael; once the dance floor opened, our job shifted to reading their guests, building the energy and letting the reception develop naturally.

A great wedding reception shouldn’t feel like someone simply hit shuffle on a generic wedding playlist. The music should move with the room while still sounding like the couple.

The transition from a choreographed first dance into a full reception is exactly where good DJ and MC work becomes less visible but more important: introductions, pacing, announcements and music all have to feel connected rather than like separate items being checked off.

A Dance Floor That Felt Natural

Hannah’s own description of the vendor team says a lot about the way the night felt:

“Getting to work alongside Party Springs (Curtis) as well as ALL of our other vendors was nothing but a dream. We were so blessed to be able to work with a team where everything felt so natural. It was as if we had been friends forever. The music was phenomenal and everyone had so much fun. :)”

That natural feeling is what we want the reception to have. The entertainment should support the wedding rather than take it over. When the flow is right, the couple can stay in the moment instead of worrying about what comes next.

A Wedding That Felt Completely Like Them

Looking back, the thing that stands out isn’t just one photograph or one part of the timeline. It’s how personal everything felt.

Their intimate guest list surrounded them with the people they cared about most. Their ceremony gave them one of those surreal this is actually happening moments. Their coordinated first dance gave everyone something unforgettable. And once the reception got going, they could stop thinking about plans and simply celebrate.

Wedding entertainment shouldn’t make the night feel like somebody else’s idea of a reception. It should help the wedding feel more like you.

Ending the Night Surrounded by Everyone They Love

After the nerves before the ceremony, the vows, the first dance they had practiced for weeks, and a reception full of music and dancing, Hannah and Michael made their way through their guests one more time for a sparkler sendoff.

A First Dance We Won’t Forget

One of the reasons I was inspired to write about Hannah and Michael’s wedding is because the entire day truly felt like them.

From the John Summit remixes during the reception to the way they took the transition in their first-dance song and turned it into a choreographed spin, their personalities were woven into the entire experience. Nothing felt like they were simply checking boxes of what a wedding was supposed to be.

You could tell every person in the room meant something special to them. That’s what created the atmosphere that night. It didn’t feel like separate groups of people attending the same wedding – it felt like everyone was there together, celebrating two people they genuinely loved.

What Hannah Said About Party Springs

My husband and I got married on April 22nd and hired Curtis for our big day. Best. Decision. Ever. He handled everything from the ceremony to reception so effortlessly and everyone had so much fun! The timing, the transitions, everything was absolutely perfect. The communication of leading up the wedding was also incredible. Any questions or concerns I had he responded almost instantly and made sure I felt good going into my day. Best DJ in Florida I believe.

Curtis made the event spectacular, we couldn't have asked for a better DJ! The music choices were perfect, he truly took the time to listen to our requests and go with the flow. The photobooth was a huge hit and it was simple to use. The lighting was beautiful and really helped add a dance club feel to the venue. The price was extremely fair for the quality of service and all that was included. We can't wait for the next event, we'll have Party Springs on speed dial :)

Curtis absolutely nailed our wedding as our DJ. I originally told him I wanted him to stick to the specific playlist we had created but he assured me he knew what other songs to add in that matched our genre and general vibe we were going for and he was absolutely right! He played all our requested songs and then surprised us with additional songs that were such a hit on the dance floor. The lighting on the dance floor kept the vibes immaculate!! I can’t wait to see our first dance pictures with the cold sparklers that were included in our DJ package. Our guests also loved the Photo Booth and all the additional props he brought for people to use for it. He was such a sweetheart and listened to any additional timeline requests through out the night to kept things on schedule and moving. He was so easy to work with and I feel like I didn’t have to life a finger or worry about what he was doing- he simply had everything under control! A huge thank you to Curtis for giving me piece of mind on our wedding day and bringing all the fun amazing vibes to the dance floor!

We wanted to say thank you to Curtis and Party Springs Entertainment as well as a very special thanks to Dustin, our awesome DJ! They helped to make our wedding reception super fun! We received several comments from our guests after our wedding that our DJ did an awesome job and that they had a blast at the party and all the dancing. Dustin did a great job of keeping our guests involved, whether young or old, in all the activities throughout the night and provided a vibrant and amazing atmosphere for our party. He hyped up our guests, got people up and to the dance floor easily, did a super energetic and fun Congo line, and the dance floor was never empty the whole night (and our party went to midnight)! Dustin was full of character and there was never a dull moment throughout the night. One word of advice would be to make sure to complete your online portal and song lists with time to spare. Make sure you confirm that your most important songs, like your first dance song is one that the DJ has downloaded in advance. We were working on our song choices up through the week of the wedding and that caused some unnecessary stress. But Dustin did a great job even with the last minute planning and took time to talk with us several times prior to the wedding to make sure we were on the same page. He was professional and had great communication. We would highly recommend Dustin and Party Springs Entertainment! - Angela and Justin

I hired Party Springs Entertainment to DJ our 50th Wedding Anniversary Party on December 28, 2025 at Osceola Pioneer Village, 2491 Babb Rd, Kissimmee, FL. Dustin was our DJ. We cannot say enough good things about him! He was easy to communicate with by phone or text. The company has a way to input songs that you’d like played and even the order of activities. We had 60, mostly older folks, plus our 5 year old granddaughter, and everybody had a blast! Dustin kept the four hour party rolling! We were very happy with Dustin and the company. I’d highly recommend this company and Dustin for any event requiring DJ services.
